Doğa is seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and experienced individual for the position of “Bird Research Officer”.
Duties and responsibilities:
•Monitor and synthesise studies on conservation status and threat categories of Turkey’s birds, and, to this end, form partnerships with academicians, national/international NGOs and birdwatchers on behalf of Doğa.
•Undertake the bird research element of Doğa’s conservation work under Preventing Extinctions and Key Biodiversity Areas Programmes.
•Contribute in development of regional or national action plans for globally/regionally threatened bird species.
•Contribute in national bird monitoring and research projects in Tukey, wherever possible
•Support all groups and initiatives which enhance the development of birdwatching in Turkey, starting from eKuşBank (eBird).
•Willingness for forming good relations and partnerships with all groups in Turkey and elsewhere, working for bird conservation
•Openness and respect for different views and cultures in Turkey and around the World
•Being able to work as part of team and self-dedication/interest in conservation of birds
•High flexibility for traveling for job-related field studies or other purposes
•Being capable in flexible time management
•Experience in Project Management
•Fluent in oral and academic English
•BSc/MSc degree with proven experience in bird research and conservation.
