19th Turkey Bird Conference

The 19th Turkey Bird Conference will take place at 17-22 May 2019, in Mersin, Camliyayla. The conference will be organized by Doga, BirdLife Turkey, and Camliyayla Municipality and Kizilkaya Society, the 2019 hosts of this annual event.

Bird conferences are organised by Doga and its allies for more than a decade in different parts of Turkey. The Turkey Bird Conference aims to disseminate new findings on Turkey’s birds and their conservation and promote birdwatching among young people.

This year, invited speakers of 19th Turkey Bird Conference will include conservationists and researchers from Turkey and worldwide working on birds and their conservation. The first two days of the conference will comprise various talks on birdwatching, Important Bird Areas, redlists, birds as part of nature culture and research and conservation projects to facilitate knowledge and experience exchange between people interested in Turkey’s birds and nature.

In the next four days of the conference, the Göksu Delta and Bolkar Mountain Important Bird Areas and Key Biodiversity Areas will be visited by the participants of the bird conference.
